cleaning a classifier

I was wondering what you all do to clean the gold and stones that get stuck in the openings of a classifier.

Put it in a gold pan upside down. Scrub back of screen with smooth rock or back of large spoon. Expect to find gold in the pan!!!

It’s a quick easy job with a 20 mesh, bit slower with 30. Takes patience for 50 and smaller...may have to scrub both sides even.

A rubber kitchen spatula does a good job on the smaller mesh screens.

I’ll have to try that. Better buy a dollar store spatula though otherwise I’ll be in trouble with my darling wife

Hear that. Salvation Army store or whatever. The edge is pretty flexible so may need some trimming. Makes it similar to those used in labs.
