What is the best way to clean coins? So i dont damage them anymore.

What type of coins are we talking about? Modern clad? Wheats, silver? There is alos a board for cleaning questions. Always some good advice in there.

well it is a wheat penny.Where do i find the board on cleaning i am new to the site.. thanks

Scroll down to research/techniques. Mostly I wash them in soap & water with a toothbrush. Sometimes a wet paste of ajax between the fingers...Gently as it's abrasive.

How dirty is it? How valuable is it? Sometimes it's really NOT a good idea to clean coins. If you must get some dirt off, run it under FILTERED water and let it air dry. Don't touch it.
