I went down to Clearwater early this morning looking forward to my first low tide hunt. It was a beautiful day. The water was calm and I had very high hopes for my hunt today. I parked and started my long walk to where I wanted to hunt in the water. Parking anywhere close costs but where I park it's free. The bad thing is, it's a long walk to where I want to go. So I started my trudge across the sand. Now for you younger gng's the sand is probably not a big deal but for me it is difficult to walk. I end up having to sit down at several guard towers along the way and rest. I found a handfull of change and some junk along the way. That was a good omen (I thought). WRONG. When I finally made it to where I got in the water and for the next two hours I didn't get one signal. NOT ONE! I kept checking my machine by moving my coil near my scoop. Yep, it was working just fine but other than that.... NOTHING.
I met several MD'ers out there this morning. Fldaphne, miket, Ken M. and his partner Les, Sam and also met up with another guy and I told him my mind was like my scoop. Everything just flows through and little gets trapped! I've forgotten his name AGAIN! I hope he forgives me. He was the only one that I talked to that actually found anything this morning. He had found a beautiful large man's silver ring. It was beautiful. Fldaphne had also made a find but I will let her do a post on it. It's her find. She certainly beat me. No rings for me today. Nothing but junk and clad. I saw several other MD'ers out this morning too but did not speak to them.
I don't know why I didn't get any signals at all in the water. I know there were a lot of people at the beach this past weekend. Well maybe other MD'ers beat me to it. I hope you all had a better day. I ended up with 1.64 in clad a bunch of junk. As for the blue round thing - I don't know what that is. It has felt on both sides and I peeled that away and it is just plain metal underneath. I did see a small boat that had sunk or partially sunk. That was something. There was a tug boat that went out to it but then left. I saw the police parked on the sand in front of where it was. Just watching it I suppose. Well that was my exciting day. I didn't find much but had a good time anyway. $1.64 and lots of friends, I'll take it.
The clad did include on Canadian penny this morning.
