Went back to the coal mine park again and found a few more goodies. Thought I’d lay out everything I’ve found there thus far. Got a 1920 and unidentifiable wheat penny, a 1941 Jefferson nickel, a silver 43 war nickel, a 1903 or 08 V nickel, two carbide headlamps, plenty of marbles, milk glass, and bottles, as well as a slew of other finds. I believe the plaque goes to an Edison amberola, as I have a complete one in my room to compare it with and it looks similar. The threaded brass handle still has no certain ID, but it looks similar to the ones used on the midget blasting machines. Overall, I’ve had a great time there and more than enough for a decent display!

Very nice array. Looks like there are still more finds in them thar mines (lol). WTG!
Absolutely! There used to be the company-issued houses for the miners peppered all down the holler as well, including a post office and a motel, so the time I could spend there is endless! Still looking for some local company scrip. Very promising site so far!

Nice! I live in an area that was once a coal producing town. The things I find laying about are just about identical to what you're recovering. I've picked up harmonica reeds, marbles and remnants of carbide lamps just the same.

You did good :) there are some old coal mining camps near me
