Hey guys, I found this cobalt cats head a while back while digging a turn of the century trash pit. It is not broken, it was made this way....maybe a topper/lid to something It stands an inch tall & about 7/8" wide. Any help with an idea as to what it was for would be appreciated. Thanks. Chris

I'm fairly sure it it says "Germany" on the dolls hem.
I sure hadn't realized that the cane toppers could be that small. Despite the picture of the one with the dolls head appearing to be on a pencil sized shaft I assumed it just had to be thicker for it to be on a cane; though I know they weren't really intended to actually support a persons weight. So, that does seem to be a good answer.
I dug the same cat's head in a turn of the century dump in Ligonier, PA many years ago. You can see it in the lower left corner of this picture. I thought it was something to put on a #2 pencil like Surf said.
I really appreciate all the help & ideas as to what this item is. A cane topper would be really sweet!!! A #2 pencil does fit in it with about a 16th of an inch of play. The little bisque indian doll is definitely marked "GERMANY". Steve in PA, cool that you found the very same cat head
