Coil for beach hunting

Im on my 6th year of goin to Ocean City MD for vacation and Im only using the standard coil for my xterra 50. I was wondering what other coil would be better for the beach, so that I can increase my chances of actually finding something good this . Im looking at the Minelab Xterra Series 10.5" D.D. 18.75kHz round coil, but its really difficult to understand why this one would be better for the beach. Can someone please help

I know that the 6.5 KHz frequency on my Garrett Master Hunter is too high for wet sand. So I suspect 18.75 KHz would be a step in the wrong direction.

Hi Bobby, it is not so much the friquency that will effect your finds in the wetsand but the extra depth and more coverage you will get per sweep. With more dudes hunting the beaches there is less for us to find so we need an edge. This happens to be more ground covered per sweep equals more chances of getting the coil over something.

Sand Man is correct as usual.............. I cover a lot of area with my 15 inch WOT coil, a whole lot more then I could ever cover with the standard 10 inch coil.........More area covered means better chances for a nice gold target....
