Found this in my back yard in NE Florida with my Excal while metal detecting. Anyone able to make out anything on it? I believe it's silver but I'm not positive it's not lead. I can't tell with the acid test. Is there a better way to tell? Maybe my acid is too old.

what is it 1.webpAugust 10 16.webp

You can scratch lead with your fingernail as it is very soft.

As thin as it looks, you should be able to easily bend it by hand
if it was lead.

looks old, had a square nail driven through it

I know that you want the answer to be... 8 real cob, and I would like that too. However, I believe it is a bit too heavy. Someone correct me, but I think that they are right at 28 grams, one ounce.

Get some fresh acid. No, the kind you test silver with...

Turns out it is lead. I tried a little harder and was able to bend it. :(
