Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
Sorry to intrude from the Beach and Shallow Water section. I normally keep to myself there, however today after this latest find I think all hunters alike could appreciate a neat find like this, if I can't post this feel free to PM me and I'll gladly take it down. No problems here friends :)

Hi everybuddy,

I wanted to share with everyone my latest finds, I like keeping you guys updated on my metal detecting finds here in the Caribbean/Riveria Maya destination, your guys kind words motivate me to hunt more stuff up
I've been in Puerto Morelos for the past 5 days metal detecting, I arrived Monday at 2 and left Friday at 9. I spent in total 17 hours at the beach, today was my best day ever!
The coin is a nice plus but the highlight was being approached by a grandmother who later introduced me to her really cute 25 yr old granddaughter, we are going out to eat tomorrow! Metal detector's are chick magnets

On to the good stuff!
Today I found 4 junk jewelry pieces, 2 ear rings, a marijuana dog tag, and a really nice ring!

The best piece is the 1921 silver 50 centavos coin, it was far out. When I detect I walk straight into the water and back to shore. That's how I farm, half way through my hunt I'm at the farthest point I go, 25 feet from the shoreline is a drop off of sand, I check that area "extra good", this time I swung as far as my arm could extend and my DF beeped! I was thinking whoa? This is so far out, I check this area good but never expected a beep when I thought about it. Whatever it is it's in the burn, I took about 15 minutes trying to dig it up underwater, eventually I stood on the wooden handle with both feet. The stealth s2i wedged so deep could support me riding the handle like a surf board that I rode back and forth to try digging it up. When I found the coin I was extremely excited, by the end of the hunt I was thinking I wish I would have found a gold ring, I just want a gold ring to call my own, eventually :/

That's a really nice find.. Thanks for sharing.

Doesn't matter how well I do I always wish for better in the immortal words of Monty Burns (I'd trade it all for a little more) very nice coin happy happy hunting

Great finds !! The attribution on the '21 is KM#447 0.72 silver, 8.33 grams; 27 mm. The series ran, sporadically, from 1919 to 1945.

Whoa! I really like that coin, it's beautifully aged!

It does appear to be, but being honest, I must admit it contains a trick I use when conserving items. No one likes a new looking old item so I compensate for age after I clean it.
First clean, then paint it black and immediately wipe off the paint with a solvent dampened rag. The result, beautifully aged.
Maybe I just should have left the illusion for you? Frank...

I like it regardless :)

That's a pretty neat and original idea! Certainly looks good on your 5 Peso!

Thanks, but Way back in the 50's when I worked for NCR, we use to restore the old cash register's logo, which was a brass plate with a gear on it, by using this method. I guess it can be chalked up to a good memory. lol Frank...111-1 profilecracked.webp

Don't think so. I found it in Columbus NM. I mounted it for a necklace for my wife. Frank...

OP had mentioned finding a marijuana dog tag. Was just wondering what that is.

Dogtag Is the military small piece of metal worn around your next with markings to tell who you are, if you watch the video, when I get to the junk jewelry look to the very left. That piece of metal is a marijuana dogtag!
