Where I am in Canada the snow ice is here to stay for awhile. I couldn't make it to the bank yesterday but I still wanted to search some coins. So today I bundled up and walked to the nearest bank to get a box of pennies. Long line up inside but it moved quickly and I got my box and made my way back home. 20 of the rolls were fresh from the mint 2011 but they ar ethe zinc core so I think I will keep them, the rest of the box produced 18 young queens, 4 1967 centenials, 5 George VI (2x 1950 2x 1951 1942), and 2 wheats (1944S 1955).
I found about 50 other americans. Excluding the 20 mint rolls, about 40% of the pennies searched were copper.

I like searching cents and I'm still looking for my first Canadian cent that is not a Queen. Perhaps soon! :)

Do you often find wheaties in your cent boxes?

I just did a penny box, 8 canadians were in it, one being a centennial canadian dove penny. Those are few and far between especially in america. I think it is my 3rd one of hundreds of canadian pennies found.

i just over filled my penny roll of the king george VI's with my oldest at 1938:) i love finding them. i feel like if i make the couple hour journey to canada I will most definatly be searching coins:)

You must not be in Michigan then. I average a Canadian cent in every one or two rolls - hand rolls or bank boxes. I see enough of the centennial doves that they just go into the Canadian Copper pile.

All told in the past year I have sorted about $300 in Cents and have managed to find two of the King George V (1928 and 1935, I believe.)

I have found about 10 Canadian pennies but haven`t found any kings yet

on average, how mant american enders do you get from a box? I usually average 1 canadian ender per box, and 9 or so canadians per box.

a few batches ago, I got a real nice 1963 canadian ender, the coin was in AU shape, reverse ender.

I will usually find wheats in my boxes but it is not uncommon to not find any wheats.

I don't really keep track but I will guess 5 minimum, I will make sure to look out for them next time. Nice 1963. A while ago I found a BU 1957. On top of that I have found a few other early queen pennies with full mint lustre on them.

Got to love coins with the full mint luster color!
