Not much to work with here. It's about the size and weight of a clad penny. 1.6mm thick, 18.9mm in diameter, 2.59 grams. It appears to have a shield with arrows surrounded by a wreath. I don't see anthing that looks like a date. I think it's copper. It reads 12-42 on the e-trac. The other side is too corroded to make out any details but I don't see any sign of a shank or buttonhole.
I eyeballed it on the surface of a well eroded pile of dirt that was dumped on an abandoned stretch of highway in an attempt to keep traffic out. The road was closed in the 40's and there are farmhouses dating from he early 1800's nearby. I can't find anything that matches the design in the Red Book or online and am curious what it could be.
