I am not sure what this is. Does anyone have a clue? It was found in a schoolyard 4" deep.

Looks like a very old, well-used hammered coin to me. Can't see much detail.

Most of the Roman coins I have seen are right facing, so this one being left facing and with a nose like that it shouldn't be to bad to match it up. :laughing7:

Agreed AE3 probably Valentinian I, 364-375 AD. (But could be Valens or a couple of other 4th century ones)
