Yup, that is an AA coin/chip, 3 years I believe. Kinda sad it ended up in the loose change (more for the original person who earned it with three years of sobriety.)
Possibly the one who earned the medal just didn't want it anymore?

I checked the Coinstar at the supermarket today and found this group of items in the tray........2 wheat cents, a 1943 steel and a 1946, 3 clad quarters, a Canadian quarter honoring 100 years of the province of Alberta, a 1976 Canadian nickel, a "non-refundable" car wash token, and a medal from a recovery group of some kind, maybe AA?
That's a nice pile....it adds up!
