Nice! I don't recall reading many, if at all any, coinstar quarter finds... They are typically dimes. Good catch and good deal on the ASE!

Yeah I looked up the value of the 1986 and one on auction is $46 + shipping with an hour left. Wouldn't hurt if I went back and bought more :P

Tax? you aren't supposed to be charged tax for bullion.

I will bring that to their attention next time I guess

Isn't sales tax determined by state? Or is this an interstate transaction?

Depends on the state.

Ohio charges sales tax on bullion.

Yep, depends on the state. Some don't have tax, some do, and some of the some that do remove it at larger thresholds. Location location location!

Also, don't buy '86 ASEs for much over melt. their is not that large of a premium on them ( generally ).

sorry about the bullion tax, brutal!

A question... I know the Coin Star Machines. I assume this is what you are talking about. Is there a way to get the coins from the machine takes?

Yeah, this is a way to get coinstar coins:

Seriously, I talked with a coinstar route guy in-depth about his business and it's not possible. He was a coin collector himself and when I asked the question, his answer was "I WISH I COULD!". He told me the only perk to his job is the rare large dollar coins that aren't counted and they never get rejected back to the customer. He said he has gotten a couple dozen morgan/peace dollars this way. With the area he told me he covered, I believe he does get a few...

Yes there is, buy Brinks boxes. They send their coins to Brinks. That is a reason their silver is skunky, since Coinstar rejects silver.
