this took myself and my hunting partner little over 18-days to try and sweep almost 333-acres and never really put a good dent in it. we will be hunting this spot for years i think as long as the farmer lets us. now its off limits he seeded the fields and we will have to wait till late fall or early spring to hit it again this site was a colonial encampment of about 250 men for about a month threw my research. many buttons not all old. few king george coppers. and a really surpise for me was the british cart-wheel penny 1797. some pipe frags and large buckle we also founf 23-musket balls but we gave them to our local historical society.

The buckle is only the guts of a larger shoe buckle (1780s)

Love the old colonial sites. It's all we try to hunt. When you get a good hit in these types of places your blood starts pumping! Coins are AWSOME. HH......Todd

Thanks for sharing the clay tobacco pipes. I would say they date back to 1720-1750.

Real nice finds!!!!!!!

Nice finds bro, there is some encampment sites all over this area, not allowed to dig there, but oh well. Depends on who owns it, most of these are state owned.

Not trying to burst any bubble, just giving a positive ID. Its an early buckle for the US & I have found many over here, none of which were complete (ie. like yours just the centre). So yes it is a good find :)
