COLONIAL HUNT*A COUPLE KEEPERS

[HEAVYMETALNUT]

got out with Gary(foundation hunter) to 2 diferent sites.not too much surfaced but,i got a designed dandy or cloak button,a solid brass lock with a nice green patina(any idea on age) a newer suspender buckle and i think this oval style suspender buckle maybe slightly older? looks like the style of etching you'd see on cloak buttons
and to end the day i got a coin silver handle tip off a fork or spoon.saw the edge in hole and was thinkin reale a few keepers for the relic display..nothing to write home about that's for sure

Good hunt, love the designs on the buttons! As far as the lock goes, I don't have time to look it up now, but try this website, it might be there.

Very nice detail on those Dandy buttons Dave!
The lock looks to date to the late 19th century.

You are certainly giving yourself a chance at a stellar find when you are finding nice buttons and buckles and relics like that ! Good hunt ! M.R.

[Rick (Nova Scotia)]

Got some keepers, could have been worse.

i found something similar to that oval thing i am not 100% sure what it is, here is a link to mine http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,395148.0.html

[DirtDigler]

My guess on the silver item is the tip of a teaspoon handle. Don't know why someone would cut it off, but maybe it had some monetary value back in the day.

Here's a lock I found very similar to yours. I would think the same manufacturer only yours looks a tad older. Look at the shackle real good. Maybe you can find a date there. Nice lock and nice finds.
