So yesterday afternoon was by far the best day of digging ive ever had. As I was leaving another site and to get out of the rain I decided to drive some south jersey back roads. I noticed a difference in a patch of forest so I stopped and prospected. Sttaight out of gate I was in a high iron patch and dug a flat button. Then the 12 43s started. First was a 1794 liberty cap quickly followed by a 1800 draped bust one cent. I lost track of which ones came after that but a total of 8 large coppers and one 1 reale was unearthed. Also dug were 7 or 8 flat buttons, buckle, iron relic and earlier in the day an 1903 barber dime. I attached a few after electrolysis pics . Sorry some pics are sideways. The total was 4 1800 draped ,1 1797 draped, 1 1798 draped, 2 1794 liberty cap. 1 one reale, and other relics and buttons. What a day!

AWESOME HUNT !!!! :occasion14:

Congrats on having an amazing day. :headbang: I bet your thankful for the rain which made you move on to another site. Hunts like the one you had a few and far between. :notworthy:

Sheezus! That is a day to remember, you killed it!!!

Congrats on an awesome set of find, so many early LCs... almost makes you forget about the real! WOW.

I like the fact that you used electrolysis on the 1794... the purists are cringing!

Best of luck to you, and very well played sir!

HOLY COW !!! Just incredible ! Nice mixture of coins to boot! Great finds, enjoy and HH

Wow....You found the COPPER PATCH! Nicely done!

You'll remember that day for a while. Congrats on a nice bunch of finds

That's a mess of awesome coppers in really nice condition. Great patina on them out of the ground :icon_thumright: My record is 3 coppers in one hunt... I've gotten that a few times too, but cant seem to get over the 3 coppers mark! Just awesome! Is there a design on those cufflinks? I've dug many broken links, but I hear the complete ones are tough to come across. Silver, coppers and links... Nice work, looking forward to a return visit post.

nice finds! man you had a great day.

Phenomenal day! Congrats on some great coppers especially the Liberty Cap. wow!
Keep going back!

WHOA... Those are in GREAT shape, too! Those are worth having professionally cleaned and graded... Wow!

Looks like he already hit them with electrolysis ???

Uh well thats figgin awesome!!!!!!!!!

One of the 1794 cents is a Head of 1793, which is very desirable. I believe it is Sheldon-19. The other one (with the die break at 9:00 on the obverse) should be readily identifiable from the die break, and at a glance, I think it is Sheldon-62 (very scarce). These two coins by themselves are worth in the thousands of dollars, with or without the electrolysis. The 1798 (Style I Hair) is also worth some decent cash and should be attributed by die variety. Value-wise, the 1 reale may end up being an afterthought compared to the coppers. Definite banner find in my opinion!
