So yesterday afternoon was by far the best day of digging ive ever had. As I was leaving another site and to get out of the rain I decided to drive some south jersey back roads. I noticed a difference in a patch of forest so I stopped and prospected. Sttaight out of gate I was in a high iron patch and dug a flat button. Then the 12 43s started. First was a 1794 liberty cap quickly followed by a 1800 draped bust one cent. I lost track of which ones came after that but a total of 8 large coppers and one 1 reale was unearthed. Also dug were 7 or 8 flat buttons, buckle, iron relic and earlier in the day an 1903 barber dime. I attached a few after electrolysis pics . Sorry some pics are sideways. The total was 4 1800 draped ,1 1797 draped, 1 1798 draped, 2 1794 liberty cap. 1 one reale, and other relics and buttons. What a day!

Thanks for the great pictures which all of us enjoyl

Amazing! I dream of finding just one coin that old! Thanks for sharing.

Seeing others make exceptional finds, gets my heart racing, just as if I'd found them. You folks, back east, have so much more history to find. Outstanding! I wonder what the odds of finding a draped bust, in Oklahoma, would be? I'd probably win the lottery before that happened.

Wow, I've never seen so many coppers in one hunt! Outstanding!

Wow what an awesome day you had, you will never forget that....:icon_thumright:

Amazing hoard of LCs, I like greenies with a smooth and even patina but your electrolysis jobs look fantastic, and that more worn 1794 was transformed from a crusty disc into a real beauty. Congrats, I'd probably dig out a trench 8 to 12 inches deep and detect and move forward and backfill through the center of the zone those were found, seems like more may be waiting deeper.

That's a banner all day! Sometimes things just work out. Good eye on the forest

Wow, great hunt. That's a great day detecting. I love those old large cents. They came out awesome.

Amazing coins!!!! In your one photo it looks like a rev War era lead pencil and a REV War era Ink pot to a 20160519_173059.webpSoldiers Field writing kit

I find myself coming back to this thread...it's that good to look at as so many are:thumbsup:

Jaw dropping, head shaking, awesome day.............
Is there a patch in that wooded area where you danced? Just incredible!! :notworthy:

Most really like the coins. Then theres the electrolysis haters. Good grief!

WOW! I had no idea what that was . ITS VERY FRAGILE. And has stuff in it still. !

I'm about positive that one 1794 LC is the variety of 1794 with the head of the 1793. Pretty sure of it! Not too common a LC.

Oh, and before I forget.....welcome to the Spanish silver club!
