Dug this Colt Model 1849 Pocket model trigger guard. Being a collector I love it. Brass with no sign of any rust from screws, so must have been disassembled before being lost. Can't help but wonder. IMG_1092.webpIMG_1094.webp

Someone was trying to fix something on it and couldn't. Just tossed it. Or they took it apart because of barrel, cylinder problem and were using it for parts. I collected SAA's for several years and sadly admit I did that once. Ruined the value of two guns...
 
Man, that piece is clean! I know its brass, but I still wonder if it didn't have a heavy coat of oil on it at the time it was lost. Congrats!
