I am trying to further my education. Although I have the Nox 800 with the stock and 6" DD coil I am still wondering about the concentric coils. read on forums where some individuals say concentric coil is better at finding deep targets. But do they just mean in an area with little trash or do they mean in trashy areas.
The concentric coil is a cone with the sharp point hitting the deepest targets. But if you have other junk targets in the upper broad area of the cone how does a deeper target in the pointed area of the coin not get masked or affected by the upper junk targets? In my parks most of the junk is in the upper 2-3 inches of soil.
What makes the concentric coils better at identifying deeper targets than a same sized DD coil. It seems that the Nox series uses electronics to unmask deep targets and maybe that is why they are not using concentric coils.
Ok, I may have all of this wrong in my head, so that is why I am asking the question.
thanks
