Been reading a while, first post. A friend dug these on Missionary ridge in Chattanooga, Tn, on private land. He's leaning toward a plumb bob for maybe a cannon or other artillary piece, for the circled item. The bullets show the size, and its a little flat on both sides.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to T-Net Gas Can!

Kinda small and light to be a plumb bob IMO.

Is there a decorative edging around the outside? Or is that just corrosion?

Brass? Iron? Lead?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm pretty sure its lead, kinda like a fishing weight. I should have posted this picture first; I'll get the hang of it, maybe!

If it's lead it could be something a soldier was making from a bullet as a gift or momento. A fob or some such. Or a fishing sinker that doesn't snag in rocks.
