Confederate Staff drooped wing officer's button found 05-19-12!!!!!!
It took me over 25 years of detecting but I found my first drooped wing Confederate Staff Officers button and its gorgeous! I decided to leave a little bit of green on the button even though I know theres more gold underneath. The back has the shank intact. Tice lists this button as being made by C. Royer of New Orleans. This variety on a lined field, 16mm, is exceedingly rare! I knew when I found it, because of how puffy the button was, I had probably found a good one and boy was I right! You don't know how happy I am today after this find!
This site has produced a Mississipi I coat button, a coat Virginia local, a Virginia cuff and now this button. It truly is a gorgeous button!!!!!!!!!! Devonrex
