Well, you can choose between 5, 6 or 7 but I can't tell from the pic, I don't have any expertise on those. Great find though!! :icon_thumright:

"7". Awesome detail! Don should be able to ID this one. 240 varieties for this date.

Looks like a 7 to me also...nice looking detail on it too! Congrats :icon_thumright:

Great 'nighttime' find CF! :hello2:
When I first looked at the date on your coin, I thought the last number resembled a '7'? :icon_scratch:

You have a nice 1787 Miller 48-g.5 Rarity 5 (I will check my latest catalogs, it might be lower nowadays) but regardless a nice Conn copper. I am not 100% sure of the Obverse side attribution, but it does seem to match the Miller 48 Obverse more than the other possibility when you have a g.5 reverse, which would be a slightly rarer variety match of a Miller 24-g.5. But from what details I see I am going with the M.48-g.5.

The details on the Obvese side that would help confirm are still coated over with crud, the area where the last C is in CONNEC and the area right after RI in AUCTORI.

Here is a coinfacts photo of the Miller 48-g.5 variety.

The patina on that Connecticut copper is nice. I would not clean it. Sweet dig!

Kirk :hello:

Nice Coppa! Congratulations

not bad for a quick look in the field :headbang:

Thanks everyone for your feedback!

Don,
The crud I can't remove - it's caked on. I may try peroxide tomorrow. After the last 'C' in Connec there is a colon (:).
