This stuff was dug this morning in the misty rain by my brother on old church and school site over by burnt prairie il. ,, muddier than hell,,

the old keyring looks like a snake or serpent,,1920-s,1917-p,1913-d wheaties,, dont know on the item at the bottom??,, oh ya cool old marble,,

Nice items. The only things I can think of was either a door knocker, or something hung over fires for cooking. It still looks great whatever it is.

Art, that ring thing is very cool. It looks like it has a lot of wear on the inside of the hooked end, which might be a clue to what it is. maybe a buckle?

That would be a great idea jarhead, my brother is a correctional officer, that would make a hell of a key ring now wouldnt it,,,

what would be the best way to restore it ? any ideas?,,,

Yeah, I have a hunch that this is a pre-CW sword belt hanger. The photo of the back just cements it in my mind... but I can't find a similar one online, and I have tried all evening to find one somewhere--anywhere. I hope you'll post this find in the "What is it?" section of the forum. Do me a favor, and don't mention the possible sword belt hanger ID. I'd like to see what folks come up with on their own, independent of my ideas about the piece.

Yeah, I have a hunch that this is a pre-CW sword belt hanger. The photo of the back just cements it in my mind... but I can't find a similar one online, and I have tried all evening to find one somewhere--anywhere. I hope you'll post this find in the "What is it?" section of the forum. Do me a favor, and don't mention the possible sword belt hanger ID.
