One of my buddies found a metal tag with a four digit number on it while we were hunting a large yard. He dropped his detector and ran to the convenience store and played the number. He hit for $300 that night. He played that number a couple of ways for two weeks and won almost $900!! This was way back when his Garrett VLF/TR cost him about $200 brand new.

I've found several like this in GA. Was told by someone in my MD club that these were typically riveted onto hunting dog collars. So if a dog was lost, hopefully it would be returned to the owner.

Nice find. I also think it's a dog ID tag. Definitely maybe a deer or coon dog.
