Hello all and thank you for the nice support for the recent post about plans to return the 100 year old vet his dog tag, which happened yesterday and was covered by a Kentucky TV station and there will be a local newspaper write up as well. Thanks again to Jimmy here on Treasurenet for finding the dog tag in the El Paso area and giving it to me to track down the vet. TV story link has the video story and a more detailed written story below it.

Great job Phillip, thanks for sharing and going the extra mile!!

GREAT story bergie Thank you for caring :)
I have two friends near me one is over 100 year old fought in the battle of the Bulge in 1944 and the other is a 99 and 3/4 year old vet that was on a hip heading for japan when they surrendered and they turned around and came back home

Thanks everyone and yesterday the veteran, Ewell, called me since I put my number in the envelope with his dog tag. I tied in Jimmy who found the tag and the three of us talked. It was awesome and we turned up another amazing fact. Jimmy’s dad landed at Normandy and so did Ewell. Seems this was all meant to be.

That's amazing. It's really great that you were able to make it all come together!

The local paper in Kentucky wrote this article about the dog tag find/return and I asked them to please include Treasurenet, which they did. It's nice to see some coverage of the site. There's no link because it's subscriber protected, but the image is readable. Best to all, Bergie
