hi all! i went out hunting with a friend of mine george to a spot he wanted to check out yesterday. well we hunted about 5 hours and each got a copper. mines unreadable (TOO CORRODED) but hey its the first copper of the year. these woods had some history possible british troops. i got some whats its. one large iron buckle maby the part to another. that fishing wait thingy i dont know what it is. its not heavy but old looking . also looks like a horse rosette and other hardware. im not sure on the dates of my buddies finds he got a couple indians (onefatty) and a copper. thanx. willy

its to worn for any detail! its the same size as a king george copper. i matched it up to a 1746i have size only. willy
 
Still counts Willy. :icon_thumright: Got a few of them myself that there is absolutly no detail left. Too bad.

you will be amazed what Don an a few other on here can id from a "worn" coin... you never know if it can be IDed if you don't atleast try....

Fish weighty thingy may be a small bell clapper.

one little trick that JuJu and I always do with our coppers is put amonia on them. They clean up nice especially the wheaties! :thumbsup: If you have a grocery store near you ask for amonia and try it! It's amazing!
 
congrats! i know that bummed out feeling of wondering what the heck it coulda been.i have quite a few myself.but hey,it comes with the territory.

Congrats on your first copper of 2010. I hope there are many more to come.

I hope to get out in the next week or so. Lots of rain here so hopefully the ground will soften up a bit?
