So I detect once a week or so all over Puerto Rico. So far I have found 3 of these copper cobs in just over a year and this is by far the best example yet. While still heavily worn, the strike is wonderful. Lots of hard work, time and thousands and thousands of bottle caps, pulltabs and crusty zincolns have enabled me to find just 3. I patiently await the day the hammered silver and gold show up. Most of the time when the mosquitos and biting flies aren't bad, my morning hunts are worth it just for beautiful early morning beach time to myself. 8-) Cheers and happy hunting!

In post #11, to the left of the pillars is the letter "S" and to the right of the pillars is the letter "P"; standing for Santo Domingo del Puerto; most likely minted between 1542 and 1556.
