Copper Disc............LQ's find

We hope someone can ID this disc, it appears to be copper, it is 1-13/16" diameter. It looks like it has a lip on the back, like a cap to a milk bottle or something. I also thought maybe the back to an old pocket watch, but of copper? The tooled design resembles some Ive seen on watches. Any thoughts?

I think you have the back to a small ladies pin watch ....They were made of base metal as copper and plated..Back snapped on to case. tight fit. look for a small lip. They sometimes had one. Then sometimes not.

It doesnt appear to have an area that had a hinge or flat spot. The edge is uniform all the way around. Ive also looked for signs of plating & dont see any, but Im sure it was buried for a long time & may have lost all plating. Im realy leaning towards a watch cover.................thanks guys.

Het Tinpan, I think the design is etched, sort of looks like the engraving on a nice shotgun or something. I'll try to clean it up a bit more & post another pic.

Sure does look like gold plating on it in the pictures, especially the design side. I have found a pocketwatch cover that was gold plated copper. I think from the size, I'll agree with the ladies watch.
