Pretty sure its not a Vermont.

See the way the bottom of the bust conforms to the line of the coin, and follows it's curve?

Doesn't look that way on a Vermont

Good point, how about a CT? Could it be the Miller 1.2 Muttonhead?

Yup.

I think you've got it.

It looks more like a William III halfpenny to me. Can you show the reverse?

Sweet copper WW. I'd still be shaking if I dug that today. Congrats on the old find:occasion14: It's time to celebrate.

The back is smooth. Finding it was amazing. I went with my wife's 10 year old sister and she had a blast helping me dig. We also found an 1898 Barber dime, 1941 wheat, and a Indian Head penny that's still soaking.

My vote is for William III half as well. Notice how the bottom of the bust curves with the edge of the coin as opposed to a lot of other coppers

Can someone post a pic. or link to what a William III half looks like? I'm having trouble finding it. Thanks, WW

1694-1702. They're all slightly different so's with a little detail you might be able to narrow it down even without the date readable.
