Hi all,

I have been coin roll hunting in Canada for about a year now, but am new to the forum. I just found it yesterday and you all seem like a great bunch of guys and gals and I am sure I can learn a lot from you all.

When I first started CRHing I focused mainly on dimes, looking for silver and other dates for my collection. I found a few dates, but on the silver front I found next to nothing. I switched over to pennies for dates and copper, which I have found much more enjoyable and always successful.

I am sitting on about 25lbs of copper pennies and being the novice that I am I don't know what is the best way to sell them. I was hoping someone might give me a couple tips on the best way. I apologize in advance if this topic has already been covered, but could anyone give me a few pointers?

Thanks in advance and I look forward to getting to know you all a little better.

I heard that canada culled the silver yrs ago,so that could be your issue. I'd try ebay to dump the copper, but being in the great white north, shipping may be an issue too. I've sent a few thing's up there, and it's a pain to me.

I do live about half hour from the border and could ship from there if this would make it a little easier to ship?

well first i would c if melting canadian pennies is legal or enforced in canada.

From what I remember, there are laws in Canada to prevent the melting of Canadian pennies in Canada. You also can't export them in large quantities either. We have similar laws here in the states. However that doesn't stop you from melting U.S. coppers that you found from CRH in Canada. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks all, that makes perfect sense.

One more question: As a Canadian, is it possible to open a bank account on the other side of the border? I live about a half hour away from the Montana border and head down there once a month or so. I was thinking it might be worth my while to try CRHing down there when I am on holidays.
