Hi all! Found this in the Philadelphia area close to the Wissahickon Creek. I was cleaning it up to make something out of it when out popped these initials and maker’s mark. Back of it has nothing on it. There’s a square approximately 1”x1” around the lettering and mark. Thanks for the help!
I mirrored the image and now it looks like initials are CWT!

I believe you're correct... it is meant to read that way round, judging from the serif to the left of the 'W'.

I also see a family crest, as a lion or leopard's head with an open mouth, facing to the left and wearing a collar. The head is 'erased' (meaning 'torn' with a jagged bottom edge) and sitting on a 'torse' (a curved band of twisted fabrics).

A number of companies used their family crest as their trademark, but I can't immediately find a surname beginning with 'T' which used a crest like that.

I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s a lion or a leopard. I’m not having luck with my search terms - could you tell me what resource you use for finding those surnames?

Well, if the imagery is clear enough to be properly described, I use keyword searches in ‘Fairbairn’s book of Crests of the Families of Great Britain and Ireland.’ You can download (for free) the two volumes of the 1905 edition as pdf files at the links below:

https://archive.org/details/fairbairnsbookof01fair/page/n5/mode/2up

https://archive.org/details/fairbairnsbookof02fair

However, Fairbairn’s reference work has no illustrations, so you need to be well versed in heraldic terminology. Once I have a possible surname, I usually look for a confirmatory image on the ‘My Family Silver’ site linked below:
