The more I look at this the more I wonder. Could this possibly be Rose Gold ? It was buried about 4 to 5 inches down and it was below an old piece of Iron. Everything that I've dug at this site so far is early 1900's a 1939 Merc' being the newest. Also shouldn't Copper get a green Patina on it after that long ? This came out of the ground dirty but shiney as new. Just as you see it here. Also there are no markings on the inside of the band although it looks homemade Anyone?

You can acid test for gold or take it to a local jeweler. They usually don't charge to test for you. It looks like gold to me

I have seen similar 10k rings of about 100 years old....

99.9%gold.
Don't scrap it. Rose gold rings have resale value at any age. Nice find!

Cool find. I'm guessing turn of the 20th C.

I'd fix it and wear it.

It's way too small Matt. Had to be a woman's. I am eventually taking it to a Jeweler to see how much it would cost to get it repaired. I am guessing turn of the Century also and that's way too cool and old not to care. I've got it displayed in my Trophy Cabinet along with some of my other favorite finds.

When you first posted the photo I assumed you had cleaned a copper ring. Now with the update, it sure appears to be rose gold. Very nice! Sub 8-)

If it came out of the ground that shiny I'm going to guess it's a higher K rose gold. They sell for more than scrap value depending on age and designs. It is an awesome ring!!

if it is too small you can wear it like pinky ring. great find.

Yes I'm pretty stoked. I don't have a Go Pro but the way this site is producing I might just get one to do some live dig videos.
