Anyone ever seen one of these? Did I stumble upon something old or??? I did some research on the Internet but couldn't find nothing old or new like it. It appears to be hand made ( I'm no expert ) but I know for sure it's copper. I heard about the newly discovered slave ship called the Peter Mowell in the abacos and thought maybe???? I would appropriate any info. Thanks btw I when they discovered the ship it was said they were finding copper nails which is why I mention this.

Dunno either, but it's definitely interesting! I think you should get this thread moved to the shipwreck forum. You might have a better chance of an answer there.

jmho But the nail doesnt look like it's hand made. I'm looking at the "round head and the spike end............jmo

First, welcome to TreasureNet. Second, I've seen them and dug them in Seacoast sites. In all the centuries before iron/steel ships, a wooden ship's exterior hull was held together with copper/brass nails, spikes, and "pins," because those metals are far more resistant to saltwater (or freshwater) corrosion than iron nails/spikes. So yes, you almost certainly found something really old.

Yours, having a round head and round body, appears to be a pin rather than a spike.

I had to say "almost certainly" in the above statement because a few copper/brass nails, spikes, and "pins" are still being manufactured today, for the same old reason -- resistance to corrosion. But in view of the rarity of modern ones, and especially in view of the location you found yours at, it is probably more than a century old, and may be much older than that.
