I found this tag at an 1890’s house in Gainesville, TX. It appears to say “SM Co” in script writing. Across the bottom it says “PATENTED JAN 13 85” and it has a hole at the top. It’s made of thin copper or brass. Can anyone give me more info about this tag?

Denton, welcome to TNet. That is such a neat find - great that it has so much info to help ID it. Kudos to Red-Coat for doing just that. Amazing!
