Got out to a new spot for a couple of quick hunts the last two days. House goes back to 1690 so anything's possible. Oldest find was a King William III halfpence, 1695-1701. Toasted, but old. Also got a couple of KG II's, one very toasted. Only silver was the handle from what appears to have been a knife. Victorian sash buckle is kind of neat and there's some sort of hanging gizmo I'm not sure what it is. The star of the show is one of the 2 Indians I found, an 1864 with L. Not the rarest Indian I ever found, but it's a decent one considering how long it's been in the ground. Found few flat buttons also.

Wonderful stuff. That hunt makes me wish our ground was thawed some thing fierce.

Incidentally, how many wIIIs have you found before?

It's my first William III although I did find a William & Mary. I find lots of KG II's and a KG I once in a while. On a club hunt last year I found a nice handful of stuff and one of the guys I was with found William III shilling. Here's my handful.

Well, congrats on the WIII! And that is a heck of a handful...the NJ and farthing are a very cool touch. What an awesome day that must've been.

Thanks for the reply, HH to you

Don't forget there was a Connecticut copper there too. It was my first farthing and came up in way above average condition. The members of the club found 37 coppers that day that I know of. It was quite a hunt site.
