coral or not

We live in south central Tx and we found this MDing one day. It was in a wash so was most likely unearthed from the last rain.
Could this be fossil coral Its about 6 inches by 6 inches. Heavy but, not really to heavy. Its really a neat looking piece.
Any thoughts
