Corner Tang or Mid-Back Tang !!!! I need your help on ID .

[MANCHU]

Had a great trip out in the desert of southwest Texas , My first Tang , I thinks its a Mid-Back Tang but not sure. Any input would be welcome. Thanks !!!!

Had hubby take look... He thinks its a conner tang because mid back would have a more centered tang. Either way its still really nice.

Goodness , those pics turned out amazing ! I say mid-back tang , I agree BANNER for sure! Killer artifact and very rare especially for a desert find !

sorry Smuarufett!! but i am going to have to go with your hubby, Dr. J. T. Patterson classifies this one as a back corner tang and the mid back tanged knife as the tang being centered on the blade!! Terry

That is a beautiful piece, Manchu---Those are probably one of my favorite types of artifacts! I think it looks like a corner tang.

Thanks Sandcreek for your post and thanks all for your post . I have allways been on the look for a Corner Tang or a Mid- Back Tang , but thought it would come from down around Vanderpool Texas or Campwood Texas, I do alot of screen and hand digging down around there and thats where most of the ones here in Texas come from,"southeast TX". It's the last thing i expected to walk up on out here in the sand dunes of west Texas !!!! THANKS AGAIN TO ALL !!!!

Yes Krisrock it is and thanks , I was with two other people one person had 0 finds and the other had 3 nice points at that time , it was late in the day and at the time i had found one deer antler and a blue bungee. LOL!!! It was a great feeling to walk up on that. After that i had a big smile on my face and just following them in a daze !!
