Hi all
I dug this morgan dollar today at an old school yard that has long been abandoned. it was a good 8 inches down and under a root. I was real happy to find my second morgan of the year. I cleaned it as best i could but something didn't feel right. when i put it on the scales it weighed in at only 13.10 grams. A real morgan is supposed to weigh 26.73 grams. i took it outside and ran both detectors over it. they both gave a reading of around 60 on my whites vdi scale. when you drop it on something solid it doesn't give that silver sound.
Other than that it is a perfect reproduction. it was dated 1892-o.
