"COUNTRY BOY" & "VEGAS VIC" ACL SODA BOTTLES
Here are a couple of painted label (acl) soda bottles that I added to my collection recently.
1. Country Boy Beverages:
Bottled in Encanto, California, which is a suburb of San Diego. Dated 1944. Made by Owens-Illinois company at glass factory number 20 in Brackenridge, Pa. Despite the overexposure of the picture below, the bottle is in near mint condition and valued at $200.00 locally. It is consider extremely rare, and is highly sought after by local collectors, especially in excellent condition. I have been wanting one for about twenty years now, and just recently acquired it in trade for a rare San Diego Eagle Drug store medicinal bottle that I had.
2. Vegas Vic Beverages:
Las Vegas, Nevada, and bottled by the Seven-up Company. Dated 1951 by Owens-Illinois plant number 23, Los Angeles, Calif. Near mint condition w/original cap. Very popular bottle in the West, and valued at $75.00. This is another bottle I acquired in trade and have been wanting for years.
As my particular collecting interest is with Cowboy & Indian bottles and other 1940s and 50s western themed memorbilia, I am as happy as a Lark to add these two bottles to my collection. The next one on my want list is a six ounce amber 7up, also from San Diego, and valued at approximately $350.00 in mint condition. The only one of these rare amber 7up's that I am aware of is in a local museum, and even thought I have offered to purchase it, they declined saying it was against museum policy. (The last picture is of me holding the museum's amber 7up. It is dated 1935 and is one of the earliest acls ever made).
Thanks for stopping by.
