A permission close to the RV park had a couple nice finds that surely had been passed over throughout the years. Just a hit or miss kind of thing...had searched and finally hit a patch of very hard brick-like clay just enough above creek level to be solid soil....this 20x20 ft. area was holding most of my finds...a yard that over the years had been pounded, made this even sweeter!

The little button might be period, unrelated to CW
A few items in pic are ?? Just found interesting.
A few of the items were scattered about in a couple Acre wooded area.

Very nice finds. I like that Block I button.

Sometimes I get a bigger satisfaction in getting a few keepers from the crumbs that have been missed from yrs of pounding of a site. Well done on the button and the copper.

Thanks for the interesting story and sharing your finds. Congrats!! :occasion14:

Excellent mix of finds! Good luck in your future hunts!

Nice job on the finds, you did great!

Thanks ya'll for the look see's....I had gotten a couple more good permissions, quite a few Acres, but one field was Bush Hog stubble, and the other field was a mediocre Hayfield which both of these fields kept my coil off the ground too far, though I did try to pick around in areas to not much success. Anywhere in Virginia it is extremely hard without some good contacts to get any permissions whatsoever. I will say the couple good size permissions I got we're off of the tax records that show Google Maps and the Plats along with the owner's name. I usually like the LLC ones, they usually are fairly easy to call and get a permission.

Anyway we just pulled into Southern Virginia on our way back home. Got to start getting my battle plan ready because this evening my coil will hit the soil somewheres, I still have a old permission in this area I can go back to, but hope to find a new one to hunt.

Ah a classic head largie in good shape! That's a rarity since the copper planchet quality they were struck on was inferior. Nice buttons too

I like that "I" button for sure. I've been lucky enough to find two here in Southwest Georgia. One was a one piece the other a two.

Block I button is a great find! It is my understanding that this Confederate button was smuggled threw the blockade, which makes it a great find.
Congratulations and good luck in VA

Nice lined block I and LC
