Yesterday got rained out at work and went detecting an old lot where a house once stood. Very trashy but cleaning up my finds, i noticed an old brass ring smashed of couse with 5 little stones that must be plastic. Today after work (friday) i had to fix the roof to stop the leaks. So i was pretty burnt out and Lovmydfx called to go detect a nearby town's sidewalk tear ups. We got there to discover his detector had a broken shaft. So he got to watch me detect. I got my first montana silver a 51 Rosie and a 1896 V-Nickle. I let him use my machine and he found nothing in the way of coins. But he did get some old compact lid. I gave him an extra shaft so maybe he will jury rig his machine for tomarrow. We hunt the area again if i do not have to work Saturday. Thats all the news for Montana detecting.

We get that mud here in Eastern Washington too. You get about 6 inches taller, and 40 pounds heavier. If it dries on your boots, you almost need a hammer to get it off.

to keep the clay off the soles of your shoes try spraying them with wd-40 if the uppers are leather try rubbing them with mink oil ,oil and water dont mix just and idea...

Glad you're able to get out and find the things you love to find! It sure helps the spirit doesn't it?
