Im pretty sure this is a Phone ringer bell but I have never seen on this fancy, has anyone else?. The Glass item I belive is from a bottling co in calvert, I do know there was a ice water and utility co that was recogniozed as a Historical building and the 2 weeks later destroyed in a tornado (around 1975). I have heard rumors of a Coka cola bottle with calvert on the bottom But dont think a coke bottleing co was ever here. Does anyone know what is meant by the words carbona- I figure carbonated water.

Just my guess but that bell is what was on the desk at a hotel to let them know some one was waiting. Had a shaft to tap.

Congrats on the find.

Historical Marker: Wootan Wells N 31.13908 W 96.72287
Item details Location: Calvert, TX
Category: Historical Markers
Item/Model # Texas Highway 6 North Bound Side
Price: Experience Texan History
Description: Famous early health spa and resort. First well was dug 1878 by landowner Francis Wootan. Water tasted good, but turned dishes yellow and clothes red. Even so, it seemed to possess amazing curative properties.

Wootan soon built a hotel and in 1879 a resort town made its debut. He formed promotion company with T.W. Wade and more hotels. A bottling works, dance pavilion, and school sprang up. Leading socialites came for miles to "Take the waters".

Disaster struck in 1915 when fire swept the town. In 1921 the last buildings also burned.

It looks like a Hutchinson Stopper bottle...possibly a carbonated soda water. hutchinson_bottle.webp
CARBONATED WATER COMPANY?
CALVERT, TEXAS?
CARBONATED COLA?

http://www.antiquebottles.com/hutch/

The Hutchinson Soda Water bottle, called "hutch" for short, was in use around 1880-1910. The bottles have the unique shape shown in the photo on the right. This style supported use of the patented Hutchinson spring-loaded internal stopper. The remains of these stoppers are often found in the bottles. Many collectors will try to find all hutch bottles in their state, while others collect pictorial and colored hutch bottles.
