Here are just a few more hardstone celts that I have found over the past few years. They are few and far between where I am. The one on the right was beaten up pretty bad by the plow. It also look like it had an ancient break on the end. Which brings up the question: What does everyone think about the theory that the ancients would "kill" a deceased person's tools and weapons so that they could be taken and used in the afterlife? I have heard some people say that the breaks occurred naturally or with the help of machinery. Others have said that the ancients did break or "kill" a deceased person's tools as part of the funeral ceremony. What do you think?

Thanks for the post Johnny X! I usually only find bits and pieces of celts/axes. I saw the grooved axe (I posted it earlier) in the ground last fall and thought that it was going to be another "piece" of one. I was shocked when it came out complete!

Good luck!

Thanks for the post Pickaway! I'm getting cabin fever. I can't wait for the fields to be plowed!
