Went to a new antique mall that’s opening up. someone had a silver tea set. The pot and the platter were plated. The sugar and creamer were taxco sterling. 554 grams for $80.

Next store picked up a signed necklace sterling silver. Another one sold for $140, a gold filled bracelet for $5, same maker sold for $50 and a 6.8 gram 14k scrimshaw basket pendant. It opens up. It was also $5.

very nice, i love shopping certain antique malls, espevially ones with high turnover, it is amazing how much dealers miss. For some reason a lot of people think "plata" is spanish for plated, lol

I had to google it too. Plata, silver. Wooohoooo!

Way to go Beach! Very nice American Scrimshaw Nantucket Basket Charm Pendant. Besides the rest of the good stuff. Nice score on that Taxco sterling too.

The pendant was 50/50. Couldn’t see a mark but it looked good! I haven’t gotten anything out of this store in about 2 months. It was time. Haha

Nice, gold is rare in my local shops. Yeah that Mexican silver is built heavy.

I was shocked to see it. Nice find on both pieces. Im happy

Great scores! Plata gets them every time! BTW. The basket is called a Nantucket basket.

A nantucket lightship basket to be exact. Is the little white piece made of bone?
