Well the winter finally got to me....I decided to MD my crawl space under my house...Just a little history, my house is built in 1856, and the kitchen was built in the 1970's. The crawl space under my kitchen is pretty large and is digable sand....its warm, no frost and had potential...I only had the chance to dig in a portion of it, but it did produce a few things. (1) draft horse shoe, (2) glass milk bottles (one from the jersey creamery co in Detroit and the other fron the Park dairy in Hazel park Mi), one hotwheels type metal train with metal wheels, one "shirley president" suspender end, and a piece of brass from a paper hull shotgun shell......not much, but its better than sitting in the house..
Bring on the thaw!!!!!!

sorry about the lack of pictures....I have to tinker with the camera and downsize them a bit...they are too big to attach to this post..

Glad you got to do some hunting!

Looks like in Charlevoix they are going to tear down a historic (1850s) house, now owned by the city.
It has a Michigan Cellar, so I am hoping to get a chance to detect it in the next week.
Your idea was quite timely. Right after I read your intention to hunt your crawlspace I was told the city was intending to burn the old house so it could be filmed for the making of a movie.

Good Luck on the rest of your crawlspace! (I think the horseshoe is supposed to bring luck, Right?)

GRIFF.....I know I know.....I have to explain to the others on the site....I am probably the ONLY one in the State that doesnt have high speed internet...I am working off a wireless card with no signal, its just as fast as the "classic" dial up from the roaring 80's....I just ordered satellite internet, so hopefully this will help... :sad11:

Ok Craig,
I am typing this very slowly now that we know your are working off a slow connection.
Sorry, I couldn't resist either.

Good Luck,
Mark

Sounds like fun to me! :icon_thumright:

Don't feel alone Craig, I'm stuck with an aircard also. I'm a tech for ATT, and I can't get into the 21st century here in the boonies......hope that dish works for ya! ffd

You guys dont know the pain I feel everytime I sign on......its horrible..I ordered the intenet today, so I'll be a little faster in a week or 2....I'll even post pictures :headbang:

Thanks for all the comments....I thought they were pretty funny :laughing7:

Oh,...and I DO hope the horseshoe brings on the GOOD LUCK!!!

Be safe,

Hey Craig,

Congrats on your crawl space finds!! That train is gotta be old. There must be a ton of more goodies to be found around your place. Looking forward to hitting again when the ground isn't so tough to dig.

thought i was in da boonies? had no idea?!! NO CABLE FOR YOU? air card gotta be expensive.

Yup air card is about a lesche a month ($60.00)....its painful knowing the houses up the road in either direction have high speed for 23.00 a month. Comcast doesnt want to run it thru the 3 mile valley and only have 8 customers...so I guess this is the price I pay for living in the country..

Be safe!!,
