I got to see Spencer Davis Group and the Turtles in concert in 1967 at Mississippi State's Humphrey colisum. Of the two, SDG had been my favorite until I heard them live. The problem with SDG was that they played the long version to every song which got old. The Turtles we're much better as they played more hits and their vocals were superior to Spencer Davis.
