looks like a crinoid stem which is a fossilized plant stem. pretty common to find them in creeks with gravel.
 

Need a better pic, to see if it looks drilled.

I agree that it looks like a Crinoid, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a Bead. We find a few Criniod Beads on the Ft Ancient sites we hunt. I know a man that found two complete necklaces on a grave that he excavated back in the 50's that were all Crinoid Beads.
