Had to call 911 today....

I'm getting ready to close up the Locksmith Shop about 4:45 and thinking of the tall glass of iced tea awaiting me at home,
I notice a Ford van pull into the truck delivery area of a business across the street.
Not a big deal because many people use the delivery lot to turn around.

But this van was going too fast pulling into the lot, in my opinion.
The van jumped some of those cement parking stops and wasted 100' feet of chain link fence, mowing it down!

I go out side, with pen and paper in hand to get a tag number, but the van will no longer run.
So I called 911.

Hope all are well!

Best,

Scott

OK....

The 911 Call:

So the van rolls to a stop in the adjacent parking lot and 4-5 individuals jump out.
Male and female. Black.
I find it odd at first that they do not scatter, as this is kind of a bad area.

I'm speed dialing 911 and my phone is telling me the battery is nearly dead. Great...

Dispatch finally answers and I finally answer all of her questions. SHEESH!

While I'm keeping an eye on across the street, a male and female cross the street and come into the Shop!

The male asked about a tow service and I could tell by his accent that he was From Africa. He spoke fairly good English and we were able to communicate. He mentioned "faulty brakes."
The female never said a word of English while conversing with the male.

I gave them one of our business cards and showed him the address and street name and they left to go back to the van across the street.

About 15-20 minutes later, a City Police Cruiser pulls onto the scene and a Black Cop and a White Cop
(Doesn't really matter to me. You?)
are there to see what is going on.

After awhile,
The white cop has been in contact with management of the property of the fence.
I see him walking back to the scene and I cross the street to speak with him.
I told him that I was the one who called dispatch.

He took my information as a witness and I shook his hand, thanked him for his service to the City and wished him a safe shift.

Hope all have your plans for the Weekend!

Always,

My Best Wishes,

Scott

Did they follow up on those runners?

No runners.

Appears to be a brake malfunction. Probably that and nothing more.
Didn't see anyone get, "Hooked up."

I also mentioned to the officer that I noticed there was an equipment violation that I observed about a brake light that was out on the passenger side....I think...One side or the other, dig?

Anywho, I was 30 minutes past having that glass of tea!

I bounced on up from there to the house.

I'll take my camera with me tomorrow and snap a pic or two of the wasted fence!

Be Well in Thought, Health, Desire and Action, Brother!

Best,

Scott

Perhaps my Friends know of my love of candy bars.,...

The memory goes back at lest 30 years ago....
Grampa liked licorice and so did I....

Every night, at bedtime, I work either a Sudoku puzzle or a crossword puzzle.

I open a fresh 3 Musketeer's candy bar,
My favorite,
And,

Scotty is now alright with the world!

Best,
