CRISPINS CRITTERS

Another late night.

Good news, bad news and good news....

The good news is that I finished the left riser replacement including the "chops," pin shafts and all new grease fittings.
The bad news is that the "heel and toe" assembly needed to also be replaced. A 1+ hour job in itself.
I'm at this point asking myself if the jack should just be sent to the scrap pile and be done with it.....

Finished everything on the left side and got it flipped over to work on the right side.
Removed the "chop" pins and "chops" and was expecting to have to pull the riser bar, when, I saw that the riser is good on that side!
The final good news. :headbang:

Of course, there were the usual interruptions for other jacks that came to me in addition to having to mount 3 new dock lights.

------------------------
Tomorrow about noonish, I'll do the locksmith job for my Wine and Cheese Shop Friend's Daughter.

But, after a Long week,
Tonight is mine!

Got those 5 Lincoln cents today and I'm very happy with the condition of each!
Filled empty spaces in my collection that I've had for quite awhile.
------------------------------
It may be time again to make some more Sushi and Sashimi this weekend...

Y'all enjoy the weekend.

Best,

Scott

Another interruption occurred today...

I was called to open a door for an employee that was secured by a "card reader" lock.
The electronics weren't functioning properly and I was able to open the door for them.
I asked if anybody had a key to over-ride the electronics and was told no.

So I told the Boss that I could rekey the lock and provide as many keys that were needed.
He said, "Really?"

I said, "Absolutely. I've done locksmithing work for over 10 years."

He's going to look into my offer to find out whether the Warehouse Manager would like to do this.
I'll probably also be the company locksmith from now on!

Best,

Scott

Earlier today, working on the "Heel and Toe Assembly."
About the time I was asking myself about scrapping the whole damned jack.....

RC, can you see 2 irregularities in this pic?

Of course I got my weekend goobers simmering in the last of Uncle Bill's habenero dust.

I'll let them stew overnight on low heat and they will be ready tomorrow when I've finished the locksmith job to enjoy while watching Saturday College football.

I'll top off the water with a bit more salt before I retire and before I leave the house to perform the locksmith job.

My mouth is already watering as the aroma permeates my humble abode!

A guy that I work with in maintenance owns a couple of tattoo shops.

I'm thinking about getting my first tat.

On my upper arm.
What do you guys think?
Better than some girl's name, I venture to opine.
Because, unlike some girl, I will always be dedicated to my Service!
A tat is forever.

Any other sites that might be of interest?

One other "interruption" of my riser repair today is that I was told to go to the large generator and clean up a diesel spill.

Seems that the fellow who filled the diesel tank over filled it and a couple of gallons "burped" out.

No problem. Scotty got that under control, too.

Sheesh!

I just want to turn a wrench or two and get a jack back on the floor for a driver to make some money, Dig?

Today, while I was working on the jack with the riser repair, a Supervisor came by, leading a "newbie."
He pointed to me, laying on my back, and said, "Lookie there. That man is your best Friend.
He be the one to keep your jack a runnin'. Always call him 'Sir.'"

I raised up and gave a "thumbs up," and said, "You can call me Scotty, Bro."

I love my job!
And I'm Damn good at it!

Best,

Scott

Another night that sleep has found a way to bypass me.
Though my eyes grow weary and my attention wanes,

It is of no matter because I am used to service with the many times of CQ Duty in the past.
With no one by my side; One lone soldier, in charge, responsible for any outcome that arises.....

Another night that I have been vigilant, there to protect, preserve and defend.

My Friends know what I speak of.....

Yes, my Friends, America is safe again, for another duty shift.

As long as I have CQ, my Friends will sleep soundly.

Now, I will make a fresh pot of coffee, marvel at the new sunrise and go about my obligations,
promised for today to others, and no one will know otherwise, right?

Shhhhh....

A Patriot NEVER sleeps!

And when you awaken, America is STILL the bastion of Freedom!

Best,

Scott

Today I'm doing laundry and making sushi!

Already have the first roll made, cut and plated.
It has salmon, avocado and cream cheese.
The next roll will have avocado, cream cheese and crab.
Also made some shrimp sashimi.

Pics when I'm done.

Messaged Tristan that I'd bring sushi for lunch tomorrow and he's eager to try sushi!

Best,

Scott

Just messaged John, the Vet I'm helping in Veteran's Court, reminding him of Tuesday's appearance.
I have messaged him several times in the last 2 weeks and based upon his responses,
I am even more confident in his success!

I asked if he liked metal detecting and offered to put a machine in his hand for an afternoon of dirt fishing.
I also inquired about other activities that he may be interested in.

Perhaps I may ask the Judge about an accelerated option for John....

Almost finished making sushi and sashimi!

Best,

Scott
