Crotal or cart Bell

Hello Tnet,

Found this bell in the Netherlands today. At first glance I would say its 18/19th century but I cant figure out what the material is. The material looks grey silver like but I doubt its that. Maybe an stainless steel type ? wich would mean its fairly modern but that would be weird because its so crudely made..

Anybody able to help me ?

I was thinking it looked like a cap or end for some type of pole.

Thanks for your input, I hope it is as old as you day it is but the colour gives me doubt. It had a grey like colour which almost looks like modern no stain steel. do you reconize de colour of the steel ?

Its a type of Tombac.
